    Nutrition is a massive subject but it effects each and every one of us. We need nutrition to create energy for us to live. The food that we eat provides us with nutrients which aid every function in the body. The nutrients are divided into seven groups, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fiber, vitamins, minerals and water. Its important that we get enough of all these in our diet. There are three of these nutrients which are essential to create energy for us to live, these are called the macro-nutrients, they are protein, carbohydrate and fats. These make up the largest part of our diet.

    It has been well established that what a sports person eats can affect their performance and general health. The diet directly affects the sportsperson’s ability to train, recover from training and to compete. It is difficult to eat the perfect diet for sports, that’s why supplementation has become so important.
